Education: Certificate in Phlebotomy a plus. Completion from accepted training program as required by State Law.

Type/Years Experience: Minimum of one year experience in a laboratory setting.


Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Team Leader Nurse, performs laboratory screening procedures for Health Center clinic clients as assigned.  The Phlebotomist also performs other tasks as assigned to assist in well functioning of Health Center activities.

Work Hours: M-F 8-4:30 and evenings and Saturdays as needed. 1 FTE (.6 Tomcat and .4 WIC Clinic)


Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree, completed at least 900 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of a registered dietitian or nutrition professional, and registered/licensed dietitian.


Knowledge/Skills: Bilingual in Spanish/English a plus. Must be adolescent friendly and act as a role model for patients seen.


Type/Years Experience: At least one year of clinical experience, WIC experience a plus.


Job Summary:

A nutrition professional responsible for providing nutrition assessment, planning, counseling and education for Tomcat Health Center patients and WIC clinic patients.

Greet clients and assess reason for appointment.  Conducts client intake interview by verifying demographics, obtaining client signature on appropriate consents and preparing client record for services being received.  Copy required financial documentation to be placed in client chart.  Explain Health Center client rights and responsibilities.  Understand and follow Health Center infection control policies.  Translate for clients and staff as requested.
